Los Angeles CCD Bond Program

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) consists of nine independent campuses and two satellite campuses covering more than 800 square miles. The Proposition A/AA Bond Program will add more than 45 new academic and support buildings to the system and will modify large portions of the more than 5 million square feet of existing space. Among other unique aspects of the program, Proposition A/AA’s the largest sustainable building program in the nation with more than 40 buildings planned to receive a LEED rating of silver or higher.

LACCD is one of the largest community college districts in the country, educating more than 110,000 students each year. The LACCD has embarked on a $5.7 billion construction and modernization program at its nine college campuses. Bond Construction Program, approved by Los Angeles voters in 2001, 2003, and 2008 respectively, are providing more than $5.7 billion for new construction and modernization efforts at each of the nine Los AngelesCommunity Colleges:

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Bond Program is the largest U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) project in the United States, and the first to integrate LEED standards campus-wide. The Los Angeles Times has labeled the LACCD Proposition A Bond Program as “perhaps the most environmentally ambitious (program) of any higher education system in the country.”
SCS is part of a team that’s providing Program Management for bond activities at 9 Campus’s and providing overall program level support to the district facilities staff for the multi-billion dollar Bond Program. Our teams scope of services include but not limited to the management, programming, design oversight and construction oversight and coordination of all bond projects throughout the district, with oversight over 9 campus construction management firms. Moreover the team is responsible for the management of the overall budget, master schedule, safety programs, and small business outreach.
